The RUHS Class of 1980 reunion committee is now accepting reservations for our (gasp) 30-year reunion on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Bluewater Grill in Redondo Beach.

We are planning to use electronic communication to promote reunion activities, so please click here to download and print out the invitation and response card and submit your reservation no later than August 1, 2010 (as space is limited we encourage you to reply early). Or, you can click here to pay online using PayPal. (There is a $2.50 per ticket handling fee for Pay Pal orders.)

Friday night August 13 - 6:00 - ???
No host happy hour at On the Rocks, 239 N Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach. Join us on the outdoor patio for a private party and get ready for the reunion on Saturday.   There will be a DJ playing 70s and 80s music in the restaurant!

Sunday - picnic and tour at RUHS
Meet at the auditorium lawn at 11:30 for a picnic and tours of campus to see what has changed.   First tour at noon, and a second tour if needed will be around 3:00 or 3:30.  Family, kids are welcome.  Bring your own picnic.

Memory books - We will be offering a memory/photo album that will be available for you to order online after the reunion. We will provide specific details during and after the reunion.

Missing alumni: We have quite a few alumni for whom we no longer have a valid e-mail address or mailing address. We recently mailed out a save-the-date postcard to about 120 alumni for whom we thought we might have a current mailing address to invite them to register their e-mail address or to join our Facebook group. Some of those mailing addresses are no longer valid. Therefore, in the next few weeks we will provide a list of those names, and if you know where the classmates are, we encourage you to either send us their current contact information or ask them to contact us at or call (310) 937-9842 if they would like to remain in the loop for reunion notices.

Hotel reservations: We have not reserved a block of rooms as we have heard that there may be better online deals, such as through AAA or other groups, but you may check out local hotels at Those hotels within walking distance to the reunion site include the Portofino Yacht Club/Hotel, the Best Western Sunrise Hotel and the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Additional hotels are listed on the Web site.

Sponsors/Raffle Prizes: If you have a business you want to promote, or if you have contacts for flowers, balloons, or other decorations for the party, or if you can provide items that would be fun to raffle off at the reunion, or if you are interested in advertising to help sponsor the reunion, please contact Kathy Gonzalez at with details. Memorabilia: We are planning to offer the opportunity to purchase RUHS hoodies or other items at the reunion. Details are forthcoming.
